Why Toastmasters Chose Sitecore
Sam Farajian, CIO/CDO, Toastmasters
Toastmasters digital transformation started with the introduction of the 2015 strategic plan and its vision for the company’s future—to be the first-choice provider of dynamic, high-value, and experiential communication development skills. To be a first-choice provider means we needed to shift our mindset from our current business model of the time to future ones. The new perspective supportsthe organization being the first-choice provider, but also honors our heritage and protects the business from disruptors. Our digital transformation is not a destination or merely based on technology alone; people and processes are the core of our transformation journey as we continuously improve our products and services.
What were the specific challenges Toastmasters hoped to solve when it investigated a different content management system?
Our biggest challenge was to select a content management system that would solve our current needs while providing capabilities for our future needs. It was essential to choose a system that would provide flexibility and scalability to allow Toastmasters to improve its website user experience. Additionally, it is critical for Toastmasters to support and serve our growing international members with a system capable of offering multi-languages.
Why did Sitecore become the system of choice for Toastmasters? What has it helped to solve?
Sitecore was one of several systems we evaluated.
We believe Sitecore’s greatest asset is its focus on staying relevant by providing new capabilities to help its customers leverage and stay up to date with the latest web content management and engagement trends.
While we have not used Sitecore capabilities and features fully, we believe it is the right web content management system for our business needs today and into the future. We intend for Sitecore to serve as an integrated business solution to help our current clubs, in more than 140 countries, collect every touchpoint from prospects to members, offering a personalized experience in all available channels.
